Introduced in 1953, the Rancher sold
for $1,000 less than the Levittowner.
The difference was that the 2 bedroom 1
bath Rancher
included a second floor that could be
finished into one or two extra bedrooms
plus a second full bath.
The
Rancher was popular the cost-conscious,
especially those with larger families
and with couples planning large
families. Below is the original 1953
introductory Levitt sales brochure. The
"Big Rancher" was a 4 bedroom, 2 bath
Rancher with Levitt finished second
