"Regardless of the Levittown house
which you choose, you will be acquiring
the latest in modern design with the
most up to date appliances and
features."
Levitt & Sons Sales Brochure
Each year, Levitt & Sons built
particular sections and manufactured
certain models, each available in 2 to 4
different styles. The 1957 Levitt Sales
Brochure above shows that in 1957,
Levitt & Sons offered the Jubilee,
Levittowner, Pennsylvanian and Country
Clubber models. All of that years models
had similar types of features and
built-ins. They ranged in price based on
square footage.

Levittown Kitchen (GE Ad 1957)
This is exact turquoise
kitchen my parents had in their 1957
Country Clubber in Snowball Gate. To
maximize space, notice how all of the
major appliances—including an automatic
washer and dryer, automatic dishwasher,
sink, 4 burner cook top and oven, along
with built-in cabinets and a
stainless steel countertop-- all fit
into about 8 feet of wall space.

Other
Built-Ins Could Include
a Hi-Fi and a Television
To Levitt & Sons, a TV was
an appliance. Levitt made money
on the built-ins because their
retail price was added to the
sale price and amortized into
the buyer’s 30yr mortgage. See
the TV and Hi-Fi built-in
under the stairs. |
