Levittown's First Official Family
The first 20 families arrived on June 23, 1952. A group of reporters followed John and Philomena Dougherty, Levittown's first official family, as they moved into their new home at 67 Stonybrook Drive. Like many original Levittowners, they had moved up from Philadelphia. Their front yard was still a construction site,  with new landscaping and muddy streets, but the Doughertys were happy to be home.
